Facing intersections … more

Alchemy of a split.

The question is about intersections of identities. Myself, Yourself and the Inbetween.
The mosaic of sovereignties and scraps unfolds. Is just by chance?

For Jerry Treit painting is the way and not a goal. He creates in the spur of the moment; its individual sensuality, adapting the technique, composition, artistic language to it and choosing the “props-figures”. The plot appears by itself and he prefers not to control it. An internal dialogue with surroundings – the light in nature, situations on the street or gestures of people in the train are the stimulants. Everything merges and draws a subtle background for fragile sensations. Life is a collage of coincidence.

“Painting is speaking aloud about our weakness. In my paintings I use the illusion figures existing in tangible and experimental world. I work in this way to hide a secret logical arrangement of art characters such as line, stain or color. I try to negate perfectionism and to “rule the chances” to hide the regularity and schedule of composing, mechanism of action by mathematical formula of the perfect beauty. Does it really exist?

Everything is in movement. Items, illusions, figures belong to the homogeneous existence which is unique and have common grief and grotesque. This consistency is a portrait of a moment where all elements of the composition are part of the same logic, same dynamics. A puzzle of chances. It´s like music. Or a an aeroplane is never really heading one direction; it is constantly adjusting the route.

“We wear masks, togs, haircuts, tattoos of eternity, but in in the essence we are naked. I do not really think that anyone cares about it by looking inside. The more we express to the outer world, the less we maintain for ourselves. In my painting I take a look into these depths, I try to find a harmony between both of these worlds. Everything merges in the chaos of daily life, one side turns to the other. One gets new hair, the other gets new wings… Dichotomy grows.

Drawing a line, a soul, a horizon, each time I put my other hand into these depths, as bathing in a bottomless pit, fishing what the waters like to give. Two universes occur. The one out of a magazine, and the intimate one. It´s the theatre of art. A little pop. The poetry of schizophrenia. The beauty of randomness by the embarrassment of completely different worlds – sometimes only fitting by color… the color of presenters‘ hair and the color of my Starbucks coffee, seasoned by the coziness of winter sox, and finished by the rumble of a rocket taking out to Syria. A feast of emotions. The fine crack we call life.”
