Mikolaj Chylak ist Absolvent der Fakultät Malerei an der Kunstakademie in Warschau in der Klasse von Prof. Rajmund Ziemski.
Er ist Gestalter des Wandgemäldes „Wall of Art“ (2008) für das Museum des Warschauer Aufstands und war in 2012-2014 Inhaber der Galerie „Praca“. Er ist als Kunstdozent tätig, Autor diverser Konzertplakate der avantgardistischen Musik sowie Illustrationen (u.a. IBBYAuszeichung für „A Naïve Poem” von Czesław Miłosz.
