By sanding the aluminium sandwich plate on the left panel, a dark but very fine grey substance (dust) is produced that is placed on the right panel and becomes a monochrome. The left panel is a cloudy image which is ‘intrinsic’ as looking through a small window into the cloudy distance. The right panel – in contrary – is very physical and ‘here’ - as in close to the spectator - and not distant but present: it is defined mostly by its materiality. A diptych of these two elements denies the impression of a strong duality between the two.
