The Fragility of the Firm… more

The Fragility of the Firm.

Porcelain is the bowels of the earth. This material includes four main elements – ground, water, air and fire that gives life and influences existence of every living thing. Beautiful plants grow out of the earth’s interior but its’ beauty is fleeting. This magic material can repeat beauty and turn it again into the bowels, into the stone, but already with the acquired and memorized form of Nature with help of artist’s hands.

It is sad to see whithering, however porcelain plants combine fragile beauty of alive plants and immutable, everlasting and firm power of Earth. Every living creature has an attraction to nature. Thus, plants and nature in form of porcelain irradiate an extraordinary and unique aura for us. These objects are emblem and gift of eternity that bear you part of affinity and power of nature, wherever you are. Formless clot of porcelain is like formation of any living being that gradually becomes recognizable in artists’hands.

Some works may look more like figurative forms than realistic ones, but there is a constant emphasis on nature and organic forms. “My works are hybrid mix of imagination and reality. Reality with a piece of imagination and imagination with a piece of reality.” It is necessary to think through technology for each flower type, create special tools and devices. The creation of a single flower may take several months from technlogy and the development of tools until its terminal firing. Porcelain flowers with a thin trunk is particularly complex and delicate work. Each plant is handmade, therefore it is one of a kind and cannot be an exact copy of previous work. Each artwork is unique.
